One of the greatest games in Canadian basketball history. Good recap of the Canadian and American teams. To think a month later, the Pan Am Games were held in Caracas and the US Team was comprised of Chris Mullins, Mark Price, Sam Perkins, Ed Pinckney and oh yeah a young 20 yo kid named Michael Jordan.

A clip from Canada vs. US aka "Miracle on Hardwood" 83 World University Games or XII Summer Universiade, The Butterdome, Edmonton

https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=599435294259167

https://www.cbc.ca/player/play/1027772995873davidyeehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00310057901685182650noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-221995408913908390.post-2565393486698698612019-06-09T18:00:39.124-06:002019-06-09T18:00:39.124-06:00I attended both of those games and remember them w...I attended both of those games and remember them well. I especially remember, sitting in front of a bunch of American fans... their shock, dismay, and anger that this team of (to them) unknowns was winning. Canada (and, BC) has a history of producing great guards. Bill Robinson (1976 Olympics) Pasquale, and of course... now what's that name... Steve something? I'm an American, and I remember that...Hi, Rob.

I'm an American, and I remember that team. In fact, I watched the semifinal game. At least part of it. The broadcast in the US picked up the action in the second half as Team USA had cut Team Canada's lead to one. Canada rebuilt the lead from there to double digits (17 at one point, if my memory's good) and cruised the rest of the way.

But you missed discussing my favorite player from that team: Danny Meagher. He's from St. Catherine's, Ontario, and played at Duke under legendary coach K. He did all the little things to help his team win; took charges, set picks, played topnotch defense, boxed out the other team's best rebounder. In this game, though, he was Team Canada's top scorer.

Yes, Rob, I'm an American, but I remember that team. And was quite impressed by it.

Bobby
Kissimmee, FLAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04808618354262092128noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-221995408913908390.post-13953862350511154162015-03-06T05:27:03.157-07:002015-03-06T05:27:03.157-07:00Hi, Rob.
